The Yellow Escort: A Masterpiece Born Amidst a Pandemic

In unprecedented times, some retreat to the familiar, while others, like us at Zakham Engineering, forge ahead, crafting marvels of modern engineering. Enter the Yellow Escort, an embodiment of passion, precision, and ingenuity, brought to life amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
From Bare Bones to Roaring Life
Born from a unique Zakham Engineering concept shell, this car isn't just another Escort. With its radically redesigned suspension points to its distinctive radial floor, this machine stands out. Further augmenting its integrity is a home-built cage, ensuring both safety and style go hand in hand.
High-Octane Specifications
At its heart, a robust Toovey 2.0ltr race engine roars to life, ensuring performance is nothing short of stellar. Paired with a Tractive 6-speed gearbox and an Atlas f/f axle, this Escort promises both reliability and a rush of adrenaline.
The WRC electronic touchscreen controller power steering design is a modern touch, shifting the steering more centrally and adjusting to a floor-mounted pedal box. The result? Enhanced control and a driving experience like no other.
As one glances inside, carbon fibre dominates the interior, seamlessly integrating with a handbrake that screams style and efficiency. Complementing the engine's prowess is the Simpson complete exhaust system.
Not to be overshadowed, the unique alloy products, designed and engineered by Zakham, further elevate this Escort’s aesthetic and functional appeal.
Acclaim and Recognition
Since its inception, the Yellow Escort hasn't just turned heads, bagging top honors at numerous events, it's a crowd favorite. The iconic Classic Ford didn't just feature it on the cover but dedicated a three-page spread, celebrating its exceptional design and engineering.
Perhaps the most notable accolade comes from Malcolm Wilson, the Motorsport Director at Ford Motorsport. A picture of him, seated in the car, is a testimony to his admiration. His generous praise for the engineering skills showcased in this build is an honor we hold dear.

Destiny Calls
While initially built for rallying, our Scottish client preferred showcasing it—much to our delight. However, we're thrilled that its new owner from West Wales has embraced its true calling, taking it to the rally tracks. With its unparalleled design and engineering, we're confident it will soon be a class leader, making waves in the rally world.
